Vijay Nair has been Professor of Statistics and Professor of
Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor since 1993. He is currently Chair of the
Department of Statistics. Before coming to Ann Arbor, he was
with AT&T Bell Labs for fifteen years. Dr. Nair is
internationally recognized for his contributions to research and
applications in industrial statistics. He has published
extensively, has been editor of major journals, and has served
on numerous national and international committees and panels. He
has broad consulting experience on quality and reliability
problems in the automotive, semiconductor, and telecommunication
industries. He has also developed and taught a number of
workshops on reliability, design of experiments, and robust
design.
