Mary Ann
Ritter
Ms. Ritter,
President and Principal Consultant of Acanthus Consulting LLC,
helps organizations assess performance and develop strategies
for continuous improvement. She draws on her more than twenty
years of General Motors management experience in assignments
that included General Superintendent of a vehicle assembly and
stamping plant, Director of Validation Engineering and Director
of Reliability, Statistical Methods and Compliance for one of
GM’s major car groups. She also worked with W. Edwards Deming
as quality improvement advisor for the car group’s engineering
staff.
Ms. Ritter is a lecturer in the Statistics Department of the
University of Michigan. She is a member of the American
Statistical Association (ASA) and the Society of Automotive
Engineers. She served for four years on the management advisory
committee for the RAMS Symposium, a forum to bring together
reliability professionals from six engineering societies. She
has also been a member of the management committee for Technometrics,
a quality improvement journal published jointly by the ASA and
the American Society for Quality.
